Why tech has not battled heart diseases... Yet?

A very relevant question being asked, amid all the hype around wearables tech. If  we think we are so close to monitoring heart beats and health , why has there been no app that does a quick heart check snd tackles heart attacks which is a serious global problem ?

Hololens - MS Gamble

Whether MS Hololens is a success or not in prime time, it has made people sit up and take notice of Microsoft changing from a rigid software company to someone who is ready to experiment and make youngsters get excited about VR and augmented reality realms..
Some recent posts in this area, while talking about drawbacks at least give some credit to the 40 year old company..

Is Microsoft changing itself?

Off late there is a lot of discussion whether Microsoft has turned the table with the new CEO Satya Nadella taking helm. It sure has identified what is past mistakes are and is looking to make amends but whether they have completed the transformation remains to be seen.

Nice article on this

AI Websites

One of the things in my opinion has not been utilized to its potential has been AI.
Having done some work with it in my graduate studies and used it for modelling way back in late 90s, I always thought it would become mainstream and booming in early 2000s but looks like it has taken considerable time to make it big time.

Some progress finally..Websites using AI and realigning themselves is going to be a mainstream activity soon.

Early believers in Google Glass losing faith...?

After reading a recent article about Google Glass losing the early enthusiasm that it generated, I started thinking why this awesome technology gadget may not seem like a good fit for the modern tech enthusiast

http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/11/14/us-google-glass-insight-idUSKCN0IY18E20141114

Some thoughts:

  1. Looks like the modern enthusiast is tired of having gadgets sticking on him/ her and would like to have a "hands free" experience to the gadget.
  2. Also to me it wants users to wear Glasses all the time to do the same activities that you can pretty much do with the normal smartphone.
  3. Not many practical applications have been seen using the Glasses. There are other companies like Epson's Moverio who have targetted much more pragmatic use cases that the Google Glass and put a premium pricing just for that. Now that to me, makes some sense..
